This month I was more excited than usual to read Condé Nast Traveller's GOLD LIST.... particularly because I am quoted on the cover story! I know, right? I was totally psyched. One day several months ago I was looking for a distraction while [working] from home when I stumbled upon a travel survey, and there went the next 45 minutes of my life. I can't remember what they promised me in return,.... but I must have thought it sounded sketchy since I marked the box saying that I didn't want my information posted anywhere and did not want to be contacted for any reason. Sometime in Octoberish, I was contacted by a senior editor of [the Bible] Condé Nast Traveller, asking if I would "please reconsider my choice to not have my reviews published" as they wanted to use my quote on il Castello di Casole for the 2014 Gold List. I of course told them I'd be happy to contribute, and the rest is history, well for me anyway.
This counts as me being a legit published travel writer, right???
